FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a Daily Wellness Check?
The CDC suggests that all school districts provide a safe way for teachers, staff, and students to self-screen and report COVID-19 symptoms before they come to school. K12 Insight’s Daily Wellness Check is a daily survey administered online or by text via a secure link, allowing teachers, staff, and parents to self-screen and self-report COVID-19 signs or symptoms before they come to school.
Why do I need a Daily Wellness Check?
As schools reopen this fall, school leaders are tasked with developing new methods for health and wellness screening. By enabling staff and teachers to self-report, you can provide peace of mind, make necessary staffing allowances before the school day starts, and significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to admit stakeholders to your buildings.
How is a Daily Wellness Check administered?
Each evening teachers, staff, and parents receive a notification via text and/or email. A secure link takes them to a private page, where they answer a short list of questions specific to their health and COVID-19 signs and symptoms. That information is recorded and instantly shared with the school district.
What does K12 Insight do with its Daily Wellness Check data?
At K12 Insight, we take data privacy seriously. All information collected as part of your Daily Wellness Check is stored on secure servers and accessible only by approved school district administrators. The information is used to populate a daily dashboard that administrators can use to quickly understand the evolving health landscape in their schools.
What if parents or staff don’t want to provide their information online?
K12 Insight’s Daily Wellness Checks were designed to help school districts streamline the process of screening students, teachers, staff, and others in the age of COVID-19, so schools can get back to the business of teaching and learning. That said, not everyone is comfortable self-reporting online. Stakeholders who wish to report in-person before they enter a school building or facility can opt-out of the program.
How can administrators use their Daily Wellness Check information?
As part of the Daily Wellness Check program, administrators receive access to a real-time dashboard. The dashboard shows who is feeling unwell, the number of suspected cases, and the number of confirmed cases, giving school leaders a real-time view into the evolving health picture inside their schools.
Is it easy to set up?
Yes. We recognize the challenges you face this back to schools. In all cases, our team will work with you to set up your Daily Wellness Check program and train your team. This work can be done in 48 hours.
